Short History of Tennisclub Fällanden (TCF)

In the fall of 1977, an indoor Tennis Center was built in the industrial quarter of Fällanden.

The brothers Kunz, as operators of the Tennis Center, had advertised the foundation of a tennis club. About 80 to 100 interested people met in the new community hall of Fällanden for the first situation meeting. Of these people, several are still active and passive members of TCF until today.

Hans-Heiri Forster was elected as the first president of TCF, who was at that time a good C 1 player (in former times there was a different system of classification than today...).

Already from the beginning, TCF had to pay a substantial rental amount per season (from April to mid-October) for the two courts 1 and 2 in the Tennis Center. This amount even increased very quickly during the following years. It was due to this circumstance that the board of directors considered the idea of a club independent from the Tennis Center and, with great initiative of all the members at that time, put it into practice.

What has happened since 1984, with 2 quartz sand courts and 1994 with the construction of the wonderful club house, can be seen in the short chronicle below (only in German). Have fun reading!
